Save Maa Ganga...

At the Tehri dam along the Bhagirathi tributory of the Ganga river.. Save Maa Ganga...  we heard stories of last year's (2010) flood during the August monsoon season...and how the dam had to be cycled to prevent overtopping and the risk of it's collapse...we saw the manmade lake behind it.. and how the village of Old Tehri was flooded to make the dam.. and the people relocated to a "modern" village called New Tehri... these stories were told to us by the dam security guards who witnessed the floods of last year... they are concerned about what may happen this year during the monsoon season..
